FOUNDER HON. (Late) VILASRAOJI DAGDOJIRAOJI DESHMUKH(Former Minister of Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Government of India and Former Chief Minister, Maharashtra, India) In 1988, the great Indian visionary leader and philanthropist, late shree Vilasraoji Dagdojiraoji Deshmukh established Manjara charitable trust in Latur for providing quality education to students of Maharashtra. His inspiration and guidance enabled the educational and social institutions under the trust to achieve many recognitions and awards in the past and his social vision will be a motivation for all future initiatives and activities of the institutions under the trust. The primary objective of the trust is to achieve all round rural and urban development through providing educational facilities in all major disciplines and areas. Moreover, through establishment of women educational institutions, the trust enables rural and urban women to get educated and actively contribute in development of nation. During last two decades, the trust started several educational institutions providing primary, secondary & Higher Secondary, Degree education and research programmes in almost all disciplines of knowledge at various places in Maharashtra. In 2008, Introduction of the Goldcrest chain of schools in Vashi –New Mumbai, Maharashtra, providing International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IDBP) and I.C.S.E. board system added another success story in the history of the trust. The trust has a legacy of establishing an environment where ‘excellence is habit and social welfare is mission’. At present, the Trust runs the following institutions in several parts of Maharashtra:Smt. The Pravin Patil Polytechnic is affiliated to the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education, Recognised by DTE Maharashtra State and approved by A.I.C.T.E. New Delhi, provides Diploma Courses in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Electronics & Tele-Communication, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering leading to On 19th September 1994 the foundation for the first degree college in Bhayandar was laid in the metropolitan area of Mira - Bhayandar with the population of 8 lacs, there was a great need of a degree college. Considering this need Mr. Rohidas Shankar Patil an active corporator took an initiative and decided to start a degree college. Mr. Rohidas Patil who has gained fame in social, educational and political field was touched by when he noticed the inconvenience caused to the students in Mira - Bhayandar. To start with a four storeyed Building he had to undergo many critical situations . But this lion hearted man never took a step back and overcame all the problems and has formed beautiful premises of Shankar Narayan College of Arts & Commerce upto degree level . Late Mr . Shankar Narayan Patil, father of the founder Mr. Rohidas Patil has always been a great inspiration for him. Hence when the idea to form an educational organisation arose in his mind he named it in the memory of his late father as SHREE SHANKAR NARAYAN EDUCATION TRUST. The Trust Started the Arts and Commerce College affiliated to University of Mumbai in the year 1994-95 with B.A. and B. Com. and the junior college from 1999-2000. Both have made steady progress since their inception and have succeeded in getting permanent affiliation from the University of Mumbai. College has awarded B++grade by National Assessment & Accreditation Council, Banglore. The College has maintained a 80% result in academics. Participation in extra curricular activities has brought recognition to the institution. The Trust has also started MMS/MBA College in the name of “ROHIDAS PATIL INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT STUDIES”. With so much experience and success in the past years, the management started a First Polytechnic in the name of “PRAVIN PATIL COLLEGE OF DIPLOMA ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY” which has fulfilled a long felt need for higher technical education in this area . The Government of Maharashtra has granted permission vide G.R. No. PTI 2001 ( 182 / 02 ) TE -2 dated 9th July 2002, DTE letter No. 2/NGP/2001/2131 dt. 23RD August 2002. and AICTE letter No . 418 / EX/ GEG/ 2002 dated 4th July 2002 to introduce the courses. The Trust has taken care to appoint qualified staff and provide the necessary infrastructure as per DTE & AICTE norms. certificate in Diploma by the Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education Mumbai.
